IQ Option is an online platform for trading options and CFDs. Malaysians are served by Sky Ladder LLC (registered with the FSRC in Antigua and Barbuda), and IQ Option is not licensed by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) or Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). You can deposit from RM42 by card or e-wallet or RM50 by Malaysian bank, trade options from RM4 to RM5, and practise first on a free $10,000 demo account.

Open a free demo account No deposit needed. Your capital is at risk when you trade with real money.

Options and CFDs are high-risk products, and you can lose all the money you deposit. This review covers IQ Option's legal status in Malaysia, scam reports, fees, deposits and withdrawals, the Islamic account and who the platform suits.

Quick verdict

Bottom line

4.1 / 5

IQ Option suits people who want a trading platform that is simple and quick to learn, especially if they plan to practise on the free $10,000 demo first and then start small with real money, from RM42 by card or e-wallet.1

It suits you less if you want a broker licensed by the Securities Commission Malaysia, need MetaTrader 4 or 5, or want tools for algorithmic or professional-style trading.

If an easy app, a small first deposit and local payments such as Maybank, CIMB and DuitNow QR matter most to you, try IQ Option on the demo. If you need Malaysian regulatory protection or a full desktop trading terminal, compare it with brokers licensed in Malaysia first.

What is IQ Option?

IQ Option is an online trading platform founded in 2013, with more than 100 million registered users worldwide. It became known for replacing complex trading terminals with a clean, visual and light interface.

Who should use IQ Option in Malaysia?

IQ Option fits beginners who want a straightforward platform, people who trade mainly from a phone, and Muslim users who want the swap-free Islamic mode. Starting small and practising on the demo first works well here, because the minimum deposit is low.

It fits less well if you need a broker licensed by the SC, use MetaTrader 4 or 5, or want algorithmic tools or a main platform for large-scale professional trading.

Minimum deposit, withdrawal and trade size

Minimum deposit (card, e-wallet, crypto)$10 (~RM42)
Minimum deposit (Maybank / CIMB)RM50
Minimum deposit (DuitNow QR)RM100
Minimum withdrawalRM10 by card or Volet, RM50 by bank or crypto
Minimum trade size (options)RM4 to RM5 depending on the asset (the trade ticket shows the minimum); maximum RM20,000 per option
Demo accountFree, $10,000 virtual funds (replenishable)
VIP accountEntry: $2,000 in deposits and $10,000 trading volume within 60 days. To keep it: $1,000 in new deposits or $5,000 in volume every 90 days
Islamic accountFree. Switched on and off with the Islamic toggle in the traderoom header; no overnight swaps

These figures let you try the platform with little capital, and the demo account covers the basics at no cost. Each option trade can still lose its full stake, whatever the size of your deposit.

Deposits and withdrawals in Malaysia

You can deposit from RM42 by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Volet, and from RM50 by Malaysian bank. The minimum withdrawal is RM10 by card or Volet and RM50 by bank or crypto, and you withdraw by the same method you deposited with, mainly for anti-money-laundering (AML) reasons.

IQ Option can take up to 3 business days to approve a withdrawal. After that, the app shows 1 to 24 hours for Malaysian banks (AmBank 1 to 24 business days). Complete KYC verification (send your IC or passport) before your first withdrawal so the money isn't held up.

Step-by-step instructions for Maybank, CIMB, DuitNow QR and crypto, plus the full withdrawal table, are in our IQ Option deposit and withdrawal guide. Withdrawals that don't arrive usually come down to unfinished verification, a name that doesn't match, an active bonus or the wrong method; see why withdrawals get delayed or rejected.

Deposit bonus: IQWELCOME and 2026IQ

IQ Option offers two promo codes at deposit. Type the code in the "PROMOTION" field on the deposit screen; one code per deposit. Full terms and a calculator are in our IQ Option promo codes guide.

For DuitNow QR, enter your first name, surname and a phone number starting with 60 (11 to 12 digits in total). The platform generates a QR code for your mobile banking app, and the code works once only.

Fees, spreads and hidden costs

IQ Option charges no commission on CFDs. The cost is the spread, the gap between the buy and sell price, and the live spread shows on the trade ticket before you open a position. The other fees are in the table below.

Overnight swap is the cost people overlook most if they hold leveraged positions for more than a few days, especially in volatile markets where the rate can reach 1.7%. Work out the swap before you open a longer-term position.

Is IQ Option legal in Malaysia?

Malaysians can open an IQ Option account, because Malaysia isn't on IQ Option's restricted-country list, but IQ Option holds no licence from the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) or Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). Malaysians are served by Sky Ladder LLC, which is registered in Antigua and Barbuda.

Sky Ladder LLC, the entity serving Malaysian users

Malaysian users deal with Sky Ladder LLC, registered in Antigua and Barbuda with registration number ILLC 004. It is overseen by the Financial Services Regulatory Commission (FSRC) of Antigua and Barbuda, registration RA000008.

What "not licensed by the SC" means for you

There is no Malaysian complaint route or compensation scheme for IQ Option clients, so a dispute goes to IQ Option itself: support@iqoption.com, with complaints to complaintsglobal@iqoption.com. The SC says entities that deal in capital market products, including derivatives, without an SC licence are unauthorised, and investors who deal with them aren't protected under Malaysian securities law.

In a statement of 4 January 2010, BNM said that under the Exchange Control Act 1953 it is an offence for a person in Malaysia to deal in foreign currency with anyone other than an authorised dealer. That Act was repealed when the Financial Services Act 2013 came into force, and BNM's foreign exchange rules now sit under the 2013 Act. This isn't legal advice; check your own position before you deposit.

Is IQ Option a scam?

No. IQ Option is a real broker that has operated since 2013, and its platform is built by Quadcode. Withdrawals are paid: from RM10 by card or Volet and RM50 by bank or crypto, only after verification and only to an account in your own name. One withdrawal a month is free, then 2% (maximum RM125).

Most "IQ Option scam" stories in Malaysia involve third parties using the name, as described below. The real risks are the products, since options and CFDs are high risk and you can lose all the money you deposit, and the lack of Malaysian regulation covered in the previous section.

Syndicates that used the IQ Option name

On 26 February 2024, Sinar Harian reported that Ramli Mohamed Yusoof, director of Bukit Aman's Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK), named IQ Option among investment syndicates police had taken down. Other names on the list included Rakuten Trade, Olymp Trade and London Stock Exchanges. The list mixes real brands with fake ones, which points to schemes that used well-known names. The report doesn't say IQ Option's own platform was charged with anything. Source: Sinar Harian (in Malay).

Fake "account managers" on WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook

IQ Option has no Malaysian office and no Malaysian phone number, and it is execution-only: it doesn't manage money or trade for clients. Our advice:

  • Facebook pages that present themselves as IQ Option Malaysia and show a Malaysian mobile number are unofficial.
  • Deposits and withdrawals go only to and from accounts in your own name; third-party payments are returned and profits voided.
  • Nobody legitimate asks for your password, SMS code, remote access, or a transfer to a person's bank account.
  • Report scams to NSRC on 997 and check a bank account number at PDRM Semak Mule (semakmule.rmp.gov.my). For real help, use the official IQ Option support channels.

Are IQ Option charts rigged?

Regular-market assets follow market quotes. Assets marked (OTC) use quotes IQ Option provides when the regular market is closed, including at weekends (Saturday 05:00 to Monday 05:00 Malaysia time). According to IQ Option's official blog, OTC prices are based on data collected from its liquidity partners, so an OTC chart can differ from charts elsewhere. That difference alone doesn't prove manipulation, and we can't audit any broker's price feed. Practise on the demo; if a trade seems settled at a wrong price, send support the trade details and a screenshot. Our trading guide explains what OTC means.

IQ Option account types: demo, standard, VIP and Islamic

The minimum investment is RM4 to RM5 depending on the asset (the trade ticket shows it) and the maximum is RM20,000 per option. They aren't suitable for beginners who haven't yet learned risk management.

IQ Option platform and mobile app

IQ Option uses a proprietary platform developed entirely by its own team. MT4 and MT5 are not supported, which is a real limitation for traders already used to MetaTrader.

Official links and install steps for Android, iPhone, PC and Mac are in our IQ Option app download guide.

The web platform runs in a browser with nothing to install. It is responsive and fast, and suits a laptop or desktop. It supports technical indicators including Moving Average, Bollinger Bands, MACD, RSI, Stochastic and Ichimoku, and the chart types Line, Candles, Bars and Heikin-Ashi.

Mobile app: Android and iOS

The mobile app covers the same features as the web platform:

How to open and verify your IQ Option account

Registration takes an email address and gives you immediate access to a live and a demo account, but you must verify your account before you can withdraw. You will typically need to provide:

  • Identity document: IC (MyKad) or passport
  • Proof of address
  • Payment method verification in some cases

Many people skip verification until they want to withdraw, which is when delays start, so verify as early as you can. Login problems, a blocked account or questions about verification? Read our IQ Option login guide.

To deposit, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your IQ Option account
  2. Click your account balance and select 'Deposit'
  3. Choose a payment method available in your country
  4. Enter the amount (minimum RM42 by card or e-wallet, RM50 by Malaysian bank, RM100 for DuitNow QR) and complete the transaction
  5. Funds usually arrive within minutes (card and local bank)

  • Bank wire withdrawal fee of $31, which is high

  • Live chat only available after account registration

Final verdict: is IQ Option worth it for Malaysian users?

Editor's verdict

4.1 / 5

IQ Option suits beginners and mobile-first users who want to start with a small deposit, practise on the demo first and, if they want it, use the swap-free Islamic mode. It covers options and CFDs on one proprietary platform, with leverage up to ×5,000 on major forex pairs.

Look elsewhere if you want a broker licensed in Malaysia, need MetaTrader (MT4 and MT5 aren't supported) or want support in Malay. It is also a poor fit as a main platform for large-scale professional trading, given the limited research tools and the reported withdrawal delays for large amounts.

Our overall rating is 4.1 out of 5.

Frequently asked questions about IQ Option Malaysia

Is IQ Option legal in Malaysia?
Malaysians can open an IQ Option account because Malaysia isn't on IQ Option's restricted-country list, but IQ Option holds no licence from the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) or Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). The SC says entities that deal in capital market products without an SC licence are unauthorised, and investors who deal with them aren't protected under Malaysian securities law. There is no Malaysian complaint route or compensation scheme, so disputes go to IQ Option itself. BNM said in a statement of 4 January 2010 that dealing in foreign currency with anyone other than an authorised dealer is an offence under the Exchange Control Act 1953. This isn't legal advice.
What is the minimum deposit for IQ Option in Malaysia?
The minimum deposit is RM42 (about $10) by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Volet, RM50 by Malaysian banks such as Maybank and CIMB, and RM100 by DuitNow QR. Bank and DuitNow QR deposits have a maximum of RM50,000 per transaction.
Is IQ Option halal for Muslim traders?
IQ Option offers a free Islamic (swap-free) account that works before your first deposit. While it's on, you can trade only Digital options on 175+ OTC instruments, and CFDs aren't available. IQ Option doesn't guarantee that the account complies with any particular faith. Whether the platform is acceptable under Shariah is a personal decision, so check with your own religious adviser.
How long do IQ Option withdrawals take?
IQ Option can take up to 3 business days to approve a withdrawal. After that, the app shows 1 to 24 hours for Malaysian banks (Maybank, CIMB, Hong Leong, Public Bank, RHB), Volet and crypto, and 1 to 24 business days for AmBank. Cards are instant on IQ Option's side, but your bank can take longer to show the money. Bank wire takes up to 45 business days and costs a $31 flat fee. The first withdrawal each month is free; after that it costs 2% (up to RM125).
What is the minimum withdrawal?
The minimum withdrawal is RM10 by card or Volet and RM50 by Malaysian bank or crypto.
What is the minimum trade size?
The minimum trade size is RM4 to RM5 depending on the asset, and the trade ticket shows the exact minimum. The maximum is RM20,000 per option.
Is IQ Option good for beginners?
The platform is easy to use, and the free $10,000 demo account lets you practise without risking real money. Options and CFDs are still high risk, and you can lose all the money you deposit. Start on the demo account.
Can you really withdraw money from IQ Option?
Yes, once your account is verified, to an account in your own name. IQ Option can take up to 3 business days to approve a withdrawal, and then the app shows 1 to 24 hours for Malaysian banks (AmBank 1 to 24 business days). Most delays come from verification, a name that doesn't match your bank account, or an active bonus.
Can I use a free demo account?
Yes. IQ Option's demo account is free and never expires. It comes with $10,000 in virtual funds that you can top up at any time, and it has the full platform features, so you can learn before you use real money.
Does IQ Option have an Islamic account?
Yes. The Islamic account is free and has no overnight swaps. You switch it on in the account menu or with the "☪ ON" toggle in the traderoom header, and it works with a zero balance, before your first deposit. While it's on you can trade only Digital options on 175+ OTC instruments; CFDs aren't available, and other assets show "Disable". If your account has moved to IQ Option's new platform and you can't see the toggle, ask support whether Islamic mode can be enabled.
Is IQ Option a scam?
No. IQ Option is a real broker, operating since 2013, with a platform built by Quadcode, and it pays withdrawals after verification to an account in your own name. Most "IQ Option scam" stories in Malaysia involve third parties who use the name, such as syndicates or fake "account managers" on WhatsApp and Telegram. The real risks are the products, since options and CFDs are high risk and you can lose all the money you deposit, and the lack of Malaysian regulation.
Who owns IQ Option and where is it from?
IQ Option is a broker operating since 2013, and its platform is built by Quadcode. Malaysian clients are served by Sky Ladder LLC, registered in Antigua and Barbuda (No. ILLC 004) and with the FSRC (RA000008).
Does IQ Option have an office or phone number in Malaysia?
No. IQ Option has no Malaysian office or phone number. Support runs every day around the clock through live chat in the platform and support@iqoption.com (from your registered email), with complaints going to complaintsglobal@iqoption.com. A Facebook page that claims to be IQ Option Malaysia and shows a Malaysian phone number is unofficial.
What should I do if someone on WhatsApp or Telegram offers to trade for me?
Say no. IQ Option is execution-only: it doesn't manage money or trade for clients, and deposits and withdrawals go only to and from accounts in your own name. Nobody legitimate asks for your password, SMS code, remote access or a transfer to a person's bank account. Report scams to NSRC on 997, and check a bank account number at PDRM Semak Mule (semakmule.rmp.gov.my).
Are IQ Option charts rigged?
Regular-market assets follow market quotes, while assets marked (OTC) use quotes IQ Option provides when the regular market is closed, including at weekends. IQ Option's official blog says OTC prices are based on data collected from its liquidity partners, so an OTC chart can differ from charts elsewhere. That difference alone doesn't prove manipulation, and we can't audit any broker's price feed. Practise on the demo and, if a trade seems settled at a wrong price, send support the trade details and a screenshot.
